    Get Your Free Solar Estimate

A Free, No-Obligation Look Before Anything Is Designed or Quoted

I'm Dave Simmer, and I've been designing and installing solar across the South Shore of Massachusetts since 2011. The solar industry is full of high-pressure sales pitches and instant online estimates that promise the moon before anyone has even looked at your house. That's not how I work.

Before I quote a system, I do a real consultation. I want to see your roof, understand your energy usage, and look at your utility setup. If it doesn't make sense for your home, I'll tell you that straight up. If it does, you'll leave with a clear, honest picture of what it will cost, what it will produce, and how much you'll actually save.

    Why This Matters in Massachusetts

    • Your roof dictates the math. Not every home is a good candidate. True 1:1 retail net metering in MA is incredibly valuable, but you need the right roof orientation and sun exposure to maximize it.
    • Incentives are specific. The state residential tax credit (up to $1,000) and the SMART program apply differently depending on your utility and system size. I'll show you exactly how they stack for your home.
    • Federal tax credits changed. The federal 25D residential tax credit expired at the end of 2025. I won't promise you a 30% purchase discount that no longer exists, though third-party leases can still access federal incentives through 2027. We'll look at the real numbers.

    What I Actually Do

An assessment with me isn't a sales pitch. I look at your property's physical characteristics: roof condition, orientation, shading from trees, and structural framing. I review your 12-month electricity usage to see what size system you actually need.

Contrast this with lead-gen "instant estimate" forms that just harvest your email. I'm a real, local, independent installer giving you a straight answer based on real data. And if you already have a proposal from another company, I'm happy to provide a free second opinion to make sure the equipment and production estimates are realistic. You can read more about why choosing a local independent installer matters.

    Is This Right For You?

If you're paying a high National Grid or Eversource bill and you own your home, a consultation is absolutely worth your time. But I'll be honest: if your roof is heavily shaded, facing due north, or needs to be replaced in the next two years, I'm going to tell you that solar might not be the right move right now.

I only want to install systems that perform. If the numbers don't work, we shake hands and walk away. No pressure.
