Complete Rooftop Solar Designed for YOUR Home — Not a Generic Template
I've designed and installed solar on over 1,800 homes across the South Shore of Massachusetts since 2011. When it comes to residential solar, I don't believe in cookie-cutter solutions. Your home is unique, your energy usage is unique, and your solar system should be too.
I handle the entire process personally. When you call, you get me—not a call center or a commissioned salesperson. I'll look at your actual electric bill, assess your roof, and give you real numbers. And if solar doesn't make sense for your home, I'll tell you that too.
Why This Matters in Massachusetts
- High National Grid and Eversource rates make the math for solar in Massachusetts incredibly strong. But to get the most out of it, the system needs to be designed correctly.
- True 1:1 retail net metering means you get full credit for the excess power you send back to the grid, which is better than what most states offer.
- The SMART program pays you a fixed monthly incentive for the power you generate, stacking on top of your net metering savings.
What I Actually Do
I design every system from scratch. I analyze your roof, shading, usage, and utility setup. I only spec equipment I'd put on my own roof—like high-efficiency REC panels and Enphase microinverters.
When it's time to build, your system is installed by local, licensed crews I've personally vetted and worked with for years. I manage all the permitting, utility interconnection, and SMART program paperwork so you don't have to chase down town officials.
Honest Costs and Real Numbers
A typical residential solar system on the South Shore runs between $25,000 and $45,000 before incentives, depending on the size of your home and your energy usage. You can see a detailed breakdown in my guide on what solar actually costs in Massachusetts.
After the Massachusetts state residential tax credit (up to $1,000) and other incentives, the net cost drops significantly. Most of my customers see a full payback in 5 to 8 years and eliminate 80% to 100% of their electric bill.
Note: The federal 25D tax credit expired at the end of 2025, so I won't promise you a 30% discount that no longer exists for cash/loan purchases, though third-party leases can still access federal incentives through 2027. Read more about current MA solar incentives.
Is This Right For Your Home?
Before we design anything, we need to qualify your roof. I look at:
- Roof age and condition: You want at least 10–15 years of life left on your shingles.
- Orientation and shading: South or west-facing is ideal. If trees are blocking your sun, we'll discuss if trimming makes sense.
- Structural integrity: Making sure your framing can support the array safely.
If your roof isn't a fit—because of age, heavy shade, or structure—I'll tell you straight up. No high-pressure sales tactics. If you're wondering if solar is a smart financial move for you, check out my guide: Is solar worth it in Massachusetts?
